Wiltshire Country Garden
A south facing garden, with a sandy loam soil. The clients wanted to add more planting to their garden and to increase their terrace size. They also had an outdated water feature that needed updating.
The terrace was enlarged by increasing the depth of the bank infront of the house. This allowed the enlarged terrace to be enclosed with a new grand border with a more gentle slope to increase the planting area. These changes, settled the new build house within the planting and created an elevated dining area. Wide, open gentle steps were added to descend the bank.
The existing water feature was enclosed with a bound gravel surface and this was then planted with 4 perimeter beds, with a variety of grasses and perennials, inspired by a visit to Knoll Gardens in Dorset by the clients.
